A good green chagrin style hardback with elaborate gilt decoration and blind stamping. Raised bands to spine. Covers bumped to edges and scuffed along vertical outer joints with wear to tail of spine and nibbled top to head. The gilt text block edges all round retain their bright shiny surface.

Inner hinges cracked at endpapers and weakening cover binding. Previous owner's signature to first free endpaper and the following blank.

Text is bright and clear throughout, and the guarded engravings are lovely and clean.
