Charles Darwin; The Living Thoughts of Darwin. Presented in a New and Revised Edition with a Preface by Julian Huxley, assisted by James Fisher.

Julian Huxley (brother of Aldous Huxley), was an evolutionary biologist and strong proponent of Darwin's theory of natural selection. He was a prominent figure in his day and well known for his presentation of scientific subjects, and recipient of many awards and was knighted in 1958. He was secretary of the Zoological Society of London, first Director of UNESCO, founding member of the Worldwide Wildlife Fund, President of the British Eugenics Society, and British Humanist Association.

James Fisher was a British naturalist and ornithologist, and made over 1,000 radio and television broadcasts on natural history subjects.

This copy has a presentation inscription dedicated to James (presumably James Fisher) from Julian Huxley, dated to July 1958.

Published by Cassell, London, 1958. First edition thus in this revised and enlarged edition, based on No. 2 of The Living Thoughts Library 1939.
