Portfolio of Photographs of Famous Cities, Scenes and Paintings; Prepared Under the Supervision of the Distinguished Lecturer and Traveller John L. Stoddard. Containing a rare and elaborate collection of photographic views of the entire world of nature and art. Presenting and Describing the Choicest Treasures of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, North and South America; The old world and the new. 

Published weekly by the Werner Company of Chicago. Undated, but c. 1898 - the first pastedown carries a prize presentation bookplate from Morison's Academy, Crieff, Scotland for the academic year 1898-1899.

A fair green cloth hardback with printed and embossed cover design. Covers are shelf worn, scuffed and bumped. The rear cover carries the Morison's Academy emblem in gilt. Spine is worn and the binding is shaken. Endpapers are split at inner joints and text block is wobbly in binding.

First free endpaper is creased and worn. The photographic plates are actually very good throughout and present a lovely collection of Victorian photographic images.
