A good full dark blue leather hardback in a full leather prize binding from 'Parmiter's Foundation School', with prize label dated to 1892 to front pastedown. There is also an upside down blank prize label on the rear pastedown (presumably placed in error). Gilt armorial and border to front cover with tooled gilt spine, raised bands and burgundy morocco title label. Some shelf wear, rubbing and scuffing to covers. Spine and extremities are darkened. Marbled endpapers and marbled edges to text block. Soundly bound. 

Light foxing to blank endpapers, and with scattered spotting elsewhere. Illustrated with  engraved drawings throughout, and with a frontispiece image of 'Magpie Hawking' opposite title.
