The Burlington Fine Arts Club produced these substantial, luxurious hardback catalogues for their exhibitions. They were all printed on high quality paper, and lavishly illustrated with plates of the exhibits.
Provenance: From the library of John R. Menzies. He was the son of John Menzies, the founder of what was once one of Scotland's largest companies, which bore his name. Menzies, together with his brother, greatly expanded the company in the 20th Century, with John Menzies shops located in almost every town of any significant size. His bookplate to first pastedown.
A very good dark green cloth hardback with gilt titles to front and spine. Spine is a little cocked. Some general cover wear and mild scuffing. Soundly bound.
Some mild foxing to the first few pages, and very occasionally elsewhere. Some spotting to the edge of the text block. Otherwise text is bright and clean, and plates very attractive.
