Little Dorrit & A Child's History of England. Two books bound as one. By Charles Dickens.

Little Dorritt was originally released in serial form between 1855 and 1857, and in book form in 1857. A Child's History of England first appeared in serial form between 1851 and 1853, with the series being released in 3 book volumes from December 1851 to December 1853, (each postdated to the following year).

Published by Chapman and Hall, London. Printed by William Clowes & Sons limited, London & Beccles. Undated, but likely to be c. 1875 (Clowes has been associated with Beccles since 1873, and from 1880 William Clowes & Sons was known as William Clowes Ltd).

A very good hardback with black leather spine and corners. Spine with raised bands, gilt decoration and red morocco title labels. Boards with feathered marble paper. With scuffing and shelf wear and a few scrapes to the leather. Spine slightly sunned. Matching marbled endpapers. 

Some light staining to blank endpapers. Text is good throughout with age toning. Marbling to edge of text block. Occasional minor flaw - 1 x 1cm closed marginal edge tear, and one page edge standing slightly proud.
