These finely bound volumes feature polished tree calf covers with gilt decorated borders, and complementary marbled endpapers. The spines feature raised bands with gilt tooled compartments, and two burgundy morocco title labels. Covers with some light rubbing to outer joints and spine. Mild sunning mark near front joint of Vo. IV front cover. Securely bound. A fine, handsome set.

Text is beautifully clean throughout. No spotting/foxing at all. Text block edges all marbled - to match endpapers. Owner's presentation inscription to blank free endpaper of first volume dating to 1899.
