Published by The Argonaut Press, London, 1930 Limited edition. One of 975 copies printed on Japon Vellum. Printed by Walter Lewis at the University Press, Cambridge. This copy is No. 6.

A very good set of hardbacks with vellum spine and green cloth over boards. With gilt stamped ornamental roundel on front covers. Very mild bumping to corners and extremities. A few marks and fades to cloth covers and light soiling to vellum. Previous owner's signature of Arthur W. Warner. Illustrated with fold-out maps. All soundly bound.

Text is very good - nice and bright throughout. Mild offsetting to endpapers. Printed on high quality Japon vellum paper stock. Partially rough cut edges as issued. A beautiful Argonaut Press limited edition, covering the travels of a Scottish sea captain, Alexander Hamilton, and his journeys which include The Middle East, Africa, India, China, Japan, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia and Indonesia ('The East Indies' then defined as a much wider geographical area than today). His account was originally published in 1727.
