This rare volume is a response to published criticism of his book, Japanese Pottery, and in particular by a Professor Morse. Presumably so stung by this criticism, the author funded this privately printed rebuttal at considerable expense.

Hardback, cream coloured with red lettering and a gilt Japanese blossom tree. The rear covers features a red Japanese 'sun' symbol.

Cover is a bit mottled and bumped and worn at corners. Text is generally very good with some spotting. Contains a small number of plates and illustrations, which include 2 x chromolithograph coloured plates. 64pp.

A fascinating glimpse into the Victorian scholarly era.
