Dictionary of Phrase and Fable, E. Cobham Brewer, 1896
A very smart copy of Brewer's Phrase and Fable, which is a rather wonderful publication which explains the origins of many famous phrases, including an exploration of myths and folklore. It can be difficult to find a nice 19th Century copy of this book as they tend to be in poor condition due to the weight of the huge textblock approaching 1500 pages. This copy has been professionally rebound in maroon cloth and presents the book beautifully.
