First published in 1795, English Grammar Adapted to the Different Classes of Learners by Lindley Murray became one of the most widely used grammar textbooks in the English-speaking world throughout the 19th century. A good hardback in full leather binding with speckled design and gilt lined decoration to spine. Covers with some rubbing and bumping. Front outer joint starting at head and tail of spine, and front endpaper split to gutter, but all still soundly bound. Small booksellers label to front pastedown (J. Ismay of Wigton). Endpapers with some light spotting and offsetting.

Text is clean and bright throughout. With occasional usage marks. A very usable copy.
