A very good vellum covered hardback with elaborate, impressive, embossed tooled printed design. Cover design with worn area around heraldic crest on front. Bevelled cover and gilt edge to text block. With minor wear to cover. Endpapers with cloth strengthened inner hinges (original - as issued). First pastedown lifting slightly from the substantial boards at the edge.
Text pages are nice and bright throughout. Front blank endpaper and title page with some small marginal nibbles. Some thread sewn bindings visible at gutters (as are normally seen in this volume). Gilt edges to text block still bright and shiny.
A large, scarce volume, more often found in lesser condition.
