A Guide to the Classics, or How to Pick the Derby Winner by Guy Griffith and Michael Oakeshott. this copy has been signed by Michael Oakeshott, over 45 years after its original publication. The previous owner has included the explanation for this as a pastedown on the last free endpaper in the book. Michael Oakeshott was a highly respected academic, and the owner met him whilst he was serving as an external examiner at Durham University in 1982. This was his only published non-academic work.

A very good brown cloth hardback with gilt title to spine. Bookplate of R J Dickinson to first pastedown and Michael Oakeshot's signature to first free endpaper. Covers a little bumped at extremities, with mild shelfwear. Some spotting to endpapers. text is nice and clean throughout. Soundly bound.
