In the Footprints of Charles Lamb, by Benjamin Ellis Martin, is a richly illustrated literary topography tracing the life and world of Charles Lamb through the places associated with him. First published in 1891, the work combines biography, travel, and literary appreciation, guiding the reader through London and beyond while evoking the atmosphere of Lamb’s circle and the enduring charm of his essays.

Enhanced by illustrations from Herbert Railton and John Fulleylove, and with a bibliography by E. D. North, the volume reflects the late Victorian enthusiasm for literary pilgrimage and offers an engaging visual and textual tribute to one of England’s most beloved essayists.
