Longshanks and I, by Francis Foster.

Published by Hodder and Stoughton, London, 1939 first edition. Inscribed to first free endpaper with presentation inscription to 'W.A. Williamson' and signed and dated by the author to 1939. Rare - only 8 library holdings identified in Worldcat.

A good red cloth hardback with gilt title to spine. Some wear to extremities, and circular mark to front, (looks like remains of a cigarette burn, which has created a hole in the front cover of dustjacket). The dustjacket is good, and covered with a removable plastic wrap. With worn and nibbled edges, and wear to folds. Some discoloration to rear. Attractively illustrated cover.

All soundly bound, with some offsetting to endpapers. Text is bright and clear throughout. Some minor toning and spotting to edge of text block. Some offsetting to one spread where a Publisher's promotional leaflet has been placed in the book (contemporaneous with the book).

A nice signed example of a scarce novel.

Text in English.
