A substantial, and high quality, volume on Nineteenth century art "With Illustrations from Pictures and Objects in the Fine Art Loan Collection of the Glasgow International Exhibition, 1901".

1902 first edition. Printed at the University Press by Robert Maclehose & Co., Printers to the University, and Published by James Maclehose & Sons, Publishers to the University, and T. & R. Annan & Sons, Glasgow. Also, Macmillan & Co., Ltd, London and New York; Simpkin, Hamilton & Co., London; Macmillan & Bowes, Cambridge; Douglas & Foulis, Edinburgh; and Angus & Robertson, Sydney. 

A good hardback with gilt to front and spine, in original Publisher's blue cloth. Covers with some scuffing and bumping and a little give in the spine, although all still bound. Some bumping to head and tail of spine. With printed lion rampant design to yellow endpapers. Previous owner's signature to endpaper. With blank free endpapers at either end of the book, with some cracking at gutter at rear. 

Text is in very good condition - bright and clear with just a little occasional age spotting. The plates are high quality. With some cracking to gutters between gatherings in places. Age toned to rough cut vertical text block edges.
