Henry Tuke's The Duties of Religion and Morality is a concise work of Christian instruction by the prominent English Quaker writer and minister Henry Tuke (1755-1814). Drawing extensively upon passages from Scripture, Tuke considers the practical duties of religious and moral life, including worship, personal conduct, family relationships, charity and responsibilities towards others. Written particularly with the religious education of younger readers in mind, the work reflects the Quaker emphasis on personal morality, simplicity and the application of Christian principles to everyday life. This attractive 1812 third edition was published in York, where Tuke was an influential member of the city's Quaker community.

A very good full speckled calf leather hardback with gilt rules to spine and black morocco title label. Covers with light and wear and some rubbing to joints. Soundly bound.

Text pages are very good - bright and clean throughout with a few leaves at either end of the book with some marginal offsetting from the leather turn-ins. One page with a marginal corner fold crease.

A very good example.
