Classic humour with a medical theme from Richard Gordon (1921-2017), formerly a ship's surgeon and anaesthetist. His 'Doctor' work was adapted for film and television and became a firm British comedy favourite.

A very good set of black cloth hardbacks with printed spines with pictorial motifs. Some rubbing and wear to spines. Housed in a set of good dustjackets with some rubbing and wear and some nicks and nibbles to extremities. In removable protective clear plastic. Soundly bound

The text is bright and clean throughout. Light spotting to edge of text block and endpapers. Previous owner's inscriptions from the 1950s to endpapers. Some offsetting to endpapers.
