Very good condition. Original green cloth boards with contemporary clear plastic protective covering - the plastic now splitting. Gold lettering and gold front cover motif. Presentation copy to Miss M. Isobel Shaw from the Parents and Girls of The Downs Senior School, Bexhill on Sea, December 1945 - with neat handwritten presentation pasted to first free endpaper. Signature of previous owner to half title endpaper.
Very nice clean copy with only very occasional age spot. Text is bright and clean throughout, and soundly bound.
Three tipped in colour plates (and the mention that these were "a mere token of what might have been possible in peacetime").
