A very good black cloth hardback with gilt titles to spine. Covers with bumps to corners, edges and head and tail of spine, with some soiling. Some offsetting to endpapers. Soundly bound. 

Text is bright and clean throughout, and the contents are attractively presented with high quality illustrations. An interesting look at Victorian publishing.
