Text is clean and bright, with full shiny gilt page edges. A most handsome volume. Beautifully illustrated by Jean Paul Quint - these illustrations first appeared in a 1922 edition of Le Rouge et Le Noir, published by G. Cres et Cie, Editeurs, Paris.
