A charming collection of children's stories, written by Mrs Lang, and edited by Andrew Lang, her husband, who died the year prior to publication. He was a Scottish poet and novelist, best known for his collections of folk and fairy tales, such as his Fairy Book series. The book also contains tales of the Tlingit tribe of native Americans.

A good red cloth hardback with gilt cover design to front and spine. Cover rubbed and bumped with some faded areas and a few markings.

Text is clean and bright throughout. Some minor spotting to the first two text leaves. Frontispiece portrait of Andrew Lang, with facsimile signature, has some offsetting from the tissue guard opposite which is age toned and has a small tear. illustrated with lovely black and white and colour plates. Gilt top edge which is still shiny and some light speckled spotting to other text book edges.
