A fair brown cloth hardback, scuffed and bumped with wear to extremities. Spine is shaken and inner joints at endpapers are split to webbing, although book still bound. Endpapers with offsetting. Frontispiece with pasted down portrait and tissue guard. The guard is half detached at joint. Text is good - clean with mild age discoloration and a little foxing at extremities. A usable reading copy.
