Typical Photographs of Burma, Burmese Life and Scenes, Rangoon, c. 1922
Typical Photographs of Burma, Burmese Life and Scenes. The book provides a photographic record of life in Burma over 100 years ago. We have seen reference to some of the photographs being credited to Felice Beato, but we cannot confirm that.
Published by Rowe & Co., Ltd., Rangoon, and Branches throughout Burma. Printed in England by Hood & Co.
The book is undated - we have seen it credited as c. 1910, but there is a printer's mark which reads "5000/W.T. 1114/8/22" - so we assume 8/22 means August 1922. Worldcat library holdings also list the date as unknown. No edition stated. We have reviewed other copies of this publication and there are clearly various printings as the cover colours vary, there are variations to the title page and the photographic content also varies slightly.
A good paperback with printed card wraps and cotton cord tie. Some mild spotting to title page and flattened crease marks to rear cover. The photographic plates are nice and clean throughout. Soundly bound.
